Michael Strahan has been named the honorary pace car driver for the 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500 scheduled for Sunday, May 25, 2025. The announcement was made during today’s “FOX NFL Sunday” broadcast. Strahan, a Pro Football Hall of Fame member, will drive the 1,064-horsepower 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 coupe to lead the field of 33 drivers to the green flag for the start of the race. The 53-year-old has had a successful career both on the football field and in the world of broadcasting. Strahan joins a prestigious list of previous pace car drivers for the Indy 500, including Morgan Freeman, Patrick Dempsey, and Ken Griffey Jr. FOX Sports is now the exclusive home of the IndyCar Series, with all 17 races set to broadcast on network television via FOX in 2025.
